What Does Being “Happy” Mean?

Comfort could be an ongoing state, however, happiness is a state that may last for a long or a short period of time. It does not necessarily mean a euphoric state.

Many people are comfortable but are not happy with who they are and what they have achieved but at the same time are uncomfortable achieving more.

They are uncomfortable stepping out of their comfort zone even when they know that happiness is just right out of their comfort zone.

What If You Stayed In Your ComfortZone For Too Long?

Another important question is what if someone stays in their comfort zone for too long? When resonating with the consequences of such a decision that one can make, the results would be horrific.

Such a person would be stagnant to change and achieve as they would not be experiencing any change on a daily basis or even in the long term as long as they have not moved out of their “Dead Zone” as some refer to it.

Does Being Out Of Your Comfort Zone Mean Happiness?

Another question that is worth asking is what if a person is constantly out of their comfort zone, does that necessarily mean happiness?

A person who is constantly out of their comfort zone would go through burnout easily and would be allergic to achievement as they have fulfilled it intensively for too long.

What is happiness if it’s neither staying in your comfort zone nor staying out of your comfort zone? Happiness is juggling between both when you are in a neutral state and very comfortable with being comfortable and comfortable when you are comfortable.

Happiness is being Comfortable

Happiness is being comfortable in whatever state you are placed in, that is, finding comfort inside your dead zone which is needed at times when you are meant to assess and make reflections before moving on to something new. The yield of such reflections may be the decision that you would like to stay inside your comfort zone for a little longer because this is where you find happiness at the moment.

True happiness is being comfortable with every decision that you take even when it means that your decision will put you in discomfort with everyone around you.

To move on to further endeavors, being comfortable with making an uncomfortable decision is essential and important. Happiness is doing what is right for yourself even when everyone thinks it is not.

The most important type of happiness that guarantees comfort with it is making decisions that reflect our values. This is the magical combination of comfort and happiness.

You would never be uncomfortable when you are embodying your own values instead of someone else’s values no matter how uncomfortable it is to portray those values and step out of your comfort zone.
