How To Protect YourSelf from “Coaching Fatigue”?  3 NO’s to Protect Yourself From Coaching Fatigue

No Coach did not reach the limit of what is called the “Coaching Fatigue”. Reaching such a state can lead the  Coach to give up on their coaching career and their passion towards coaching altogether.

If this fatigue is not treated at early stages it can lead to a state of burnout which a coach may take months to recover from, assuming he is in the right environment of course.

To avoid coaching fatigue you have to say “NO”. There are three important NO’s that a Coach must consider if they would like to preserve their energy and save themselves from getting drained.

And you can learn more about that through our course Stress Management

And here are the 3 NO’s to Protect Yourself From Coaching Fatigue

1-No Phone Calls to Non-Clients

In the beginning of our coaching journey,  we have the ultimate calling to help every human being alive on earth. We feel responsible that we must provide our time and energy to everyone.

However,  as a coach this is nowhere near the truth. We are responsible for providing a coaching session with deep and active listening skills that would provoke powerful questions that would help the client unleash their full potential to achieve the goal of their session. Phone calls should be exclusive only to clients as they take an excessive amount of energy and can heavily drain a person.

2-No Voice Messages

People approach Life Coaches for advice at times that are based on their professional experience. However, with every coach’s experience comes a strong sense of intuition that is strengthened by experience, as a result, we do not need every single detail of the story.

Most people have the habit of narration which causes them to spend more time narrating unnecessary details  to their life coach rather than giving important information that would help us, as life coaches,  analyze.

People want to reach a Life Coach regardless of how busy they are. Yet, they want to have the whole package for free, therefore, they would indulge in voice messages that can last at times up till thirty minutes! Of course, this is very time-ineffective for a Coach who wants to protect their energy.

Therefore, for a professional coach and especially life coach,  texting is more efficient and effective time-wise as a person would find it harder to text rather than talking, hence, would only include the important information to ease their time typing.

Furthermore, it requires less energy from a coach or a life coach to read a text than to listen to an infinite amount of voice messages recorded by someone.

3-No Offered Free Sessions

As has been noted before, Life Coaches believe that they are meant to save everyone’s life and help them get through all their hardships.

Therefore,  as a life coach and professional coach , we may tend to offer coaching sessions which have not been requested by the person just because we believe that we can help them improve their overall well-being.

On the other side, In fact, this can be uncomfortable to the person and they may not be ready or even coachable.

Evidently, it would drain our energy to work with a client who is not ready to be a client in the first place as they would show lack of commitment and would not stick to their action plan  or the coaching sessions, because they did not request any extra coaching session with us, life coaches.

Therefore, coaching is sought and not offered in order for a  life coach to save their energy from being drained with the wrong people.
