Yin and Yang

Humans love to classify characteristics in categories therefore Yin refers to females and Yang refers to males.

Some people may be very provoked by the classifications; however, it is what it is regardless of how much we agree or disagree. Yin and Yang are not completely opposites of each other as each one carries a tiny part of the other.

Possessing yin characteristics and vice versa can make the two interconnected, bonded and flexible with each other. Let’s take the characteristics and see how they relate to the yin and yang.

For instance, listening is one of the strongest classifications of being a Yin. So is softness, being passive, surrendering to reality, feeling, empathetic and being passive without taking an action. Yang is of course associated with being hard, strong, assertive and bold.

In relationships, the best thing is to be a bit of both. For instance, listening is known to be one of the strongest characteristics of being a Yin. There are times in the relationship where you will be required to exchange the role of energies between the yin and the yang. Listening would be one characteristic that a male would certainly be required to do in order to get the best outcomes. Other times, standing up for yourself and stating what you need from this relationship means that you are embodying a yang characteristic.

Being a Yin and a Yang is a constant flow between males and females depending on the role that one needs to play to get the best outcome from the situation. It is an important part of your relationship with your partner which is to be what the relationship needs at the moment.
